ABOUT HOGS AND HOPS
In 2012, the local Fraternal Order of Police and Volunteer Fire Departments were in need of a new source of revenue to benefit their emergency relief funds in a tough economy. Both departments wanted to create an event that would become a yearly "must-attend" for the community that was unique to the area. That is when HOGS AND HOPS was born; who doesn't love Beer and BBQ right? After partnering with Dover's local craft brewery (Fordham and Old Dominion), the idea came to life. Held in Fordham Brewing's backyard, the 1st event was a grand slam. Over 2,000 people attended the event, even though there were thunderstorms and heavy rain all day! Hogs and Hops raised over $15,000 for non-profit organizations, poured over 4,500 cups of beer, and served over 1,500 pounds of competition BBQ to judges and VIP ticket holders.
Now we are coming back on September 21, 2013, with more BBQ teams, beer stations, food vendors, and entertainment options for the WHOLE FAMILY. Get ready Delaware...good times are coming!!!
